The Count Down is On (Really)

Remember when I mentioned our farm was going automated?  Well, the old barn has been knocked down, the new one almost finished, (permit has been granted), and the robots have arrived!

View from the road - old barn down!

View from the road - new!

New! Looking awesome!

There has been more progress than this, I just haven't been on top of photo taking! Robots are in, milk tank is ready, hay loft has been loaded, siding is on, concrete is all poured...yes indeed, the countdown is ON!

Dan will milk the last shift on Monday morning. Then the cows are changing address.

This will be a thing of the past! Hooray!

A zillion down! Two more early mornings to go!
(And then, like, 3 weeks of real hellish work as the cows figure it out, but you know! The end is in sight!)

Wow! That is progress eh? Good job and I do hope that Dan will get to sleep in a day or 2? Although, I do love old barns and feel bad about their demise across the country. But I understand, you gotta do what you gotta do!
love you both, best wishes on the last 2 early morning shifts!

I think they have changed the start day to Tuesday now. Auntie Rose, don't feel bad for the demise of these particular barns. They were old but not in the good, piece of history old. More like mid 50s, added on to poorly in 70s, 80s, and 90s. They were a mess and really needed to go!

  3. Yay, robots! Helen must be excited? Although not as excited as her Uncle Dan, no doubt! That is great and I'm happy that you might be able to live regular lives? Without getting up at 4 am, or whenever he wakes up.
